Have you ever dreamed of strolling through the African savanna with Simba, having a ‘Hakuna Matata’ moment with Timon and Pumbaa, or just chilling in the majestic shade of Pride Rock? Well, start packing your bags because Disneyland Paris is about to make those dreams come true in 2026! Disney has been working tirelessly behind the scenes for quite some time to reveal an exciting new chapter in the park's evolution. This will be the first-ever immersive The Lion King themed land, set to transport guests into the heart of Simba’s world.

So, if you’ve been wishing for a roaring adventure at Disneyland Paris, you’re in for a treat! Here’s what we know so far about the highly anticipated Pride Lands experience coming in 2026:

A roaring new themed land

Disneyland Paris has officially announced the world’s very first The Lion King-themed land, and it’s going to be wild (pun totally intended). This new immersive area, called Pride Lands, will transport guests straight into Simba’s world, where they can explore the breathtaking African landscape and relive the film’s most iconic moments.

A ride fit for a king

The crown jewel (or should I say mane attraction?) of this new land will be a water-based adventure that takes guests on a journey through Pride Rock. Imagine hopping into a boat and floating along as you experience Simba’s transformation from playful cub to mighty king. With stunning animatronics, dazzling effects, and unexpected splashes, this ride promises to be a royal adventure like no other!

More than just a ride

With Pride Rock as the central point, guests will experience the beauty of the savanna. But wait, there’s more! The Pride Lands will be packed with character meet-and-greets, themed dining experiences, and one-of-a-kind shopping spots filled with souvenirs that would make even Scar jealous. Whether you’re looking for a feast fit for a king or just a cute Pumbaa plushie, this land will have something for everyone.

The new name: Disney Adventure World

As part of this transformation, Disneyland Paris is also rebranding the former Walt Disney Studios Park into Disney Adventure World. This new name represents the exciting future of the park, filled with thrilling new lands and attractions.

New Additions

Here are some of the exciting new additions coming to Disney Adventure World:

  • Adventure Bay: A central lake area with walking paths, gardens, and grandstands for entertainment.

  • Frozen Land: A Norwegian harbor, Arendelle Castle, and Frozen-themed attractions, opening in 2026.

  • Pride Lands (The Lion King Land): A new themed area dedicated to The Lion King.

When can we let out our mighty roar?

The construction of Pride Lands will begin in 2025, following the opening of World of Frozen. The grand opening of this new land is set for 2026, with the debut of a new nighttime show set to take place over Adventure Bay.

Pride Lands will replace the previously planned Star Wars zone, marking a significant milestone in the transformation of Disneyland Paris. Under the leadership of Michel Den Dulk, Portfolio Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, this project is sure to redefine the Disney experience.

A magical future for Disneyland Paris

This expansion is part of a massive €2 billion transformation of Disneyland Paris, which also includes the opening of World of Frozen and an all-new nighttime show over Adventure Bay. Disney is clearly pulling out all the stops to keep making our childhood dreams come true.

Disney fans, get ready to step into the Circle of Life like never before. The Pride Lands is set to become an unforgettable part of the Disneyland Paris experience, bringing the magic of The Lion King to life in a way we’ve never seen before. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to 2026—and remember, Hakuna Matata!
