What better way to start the new year than by stepping into the enchanting world of Disney? On January 4th, I attended Disney in Concert at the Ziggo Dome, and once again. It was a breathtaking experience! This was my second time at the event, and while I slightly preferred the first one due to its beautiful selection of instrumental classics (I’m a sucker for orchestral magic!) this year’s edition still delivered an unforgettable night filled with Disney wonder.
Fireworks from the beginning!
From the moment the first note played, the entire venue was immersed in a world of fantasy. The New Symphonics brought the beloved Disney melodies to life, and the star-studded lineup—featuring fantastic Dutch singers, such as Vajèn van den Bosch, Jim Bakkum, Gaia Aikman, Soy Kroon, Bettina Holwerda, Stanley Burleson, and special guest Emma Kok—made every song feel like a fairytale moment unfolding right before our eyes. I loved the opening song, You Are The Magic of Disney Enchantment, the fireworks and projection mapping show in Magic Kingdom Park in Disney World. They actually had fireworks with it as well, how cool is that?
A setlist full of Disney magic
The setlist was packed with fan-favorites! From the cheerful rhythms of Diep in de Zee (Under the Sea) to the heartwarming You’ll Be in My Heart and the spine-tingling Laat het Los (Let it Go), every performance was a tribute to Disney’s legendary music. One of my personal highlights was the instrumental medleys, like Pirates of the Caribbean and The Best of Pixar—these orchestral pieces really tug at my heartstrings, sometimes even more than the vocal performances!
An atmosphere of pure Disney wonder
The atmosphere was pure Disney magic—families singing along, kids dressed as their favorite characters, and an overall sense of joy that made the night feel truly special. The Ziggo Dome once again proved to be the perfect venue, with great acoustics and an immersive light show that enhanced the experience.
Exciting News for 2025!
And here’s some exciting news: Disney in Concert will return on December 27, 2025, with a brand-new show titled Follow Your Dreams! This event is quickly becoming a holiday tradition, and I, for one, can’t wait to see what’s in store next year! I already have my tickets booked. :)
⭐ Final Verdict: A magical night for Disney fans of all ages! While I missed some of the classic instrumental pieces from previous editions, this year’s performance was still an unforgettable journey through the heart of Disney’s greatest songs. If you’re a Disney fan, make sure to mark your calendar for 2025!
